Don Ruedy
An artist conceives the motif not only in terms of convictions and elements, but also in terms of the possibilities and limitations of the chosen medium.
Don is presently a professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin Colleges Barron Campus in Rice Lake, where he teaches studio art and art history. Don received his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1967 and has taught at the Barron Campus since. He continues to paint both in oil and in water color. He has received commissions to do portraits, among other subjects, including a bronze sculpture of a WWII soldier for the Rice Lake veterans memorial park. Over the years his work has been exhibited in numerous regional and national shows. He has three paintings in Russia and one in Japan. Don lives with his wife Linda on beautiful Long Lake. |
