Wyatt Pratt
Wyatt Pratt was born in Ladysmith, WI in the year of 1953. The days when art still mattered as a school curriculum. He was greatly influenced by his instructors throughout his school years.
The making of hiking staffs or at least the idea of walking sticks, began with his father. He made his first stick in 1973. The idea was resurrected when he and his father were living in the Flambeau State Forest, just north of Tony, WI. Having an abundant source of material and a lot of time. They began to produce walking sticks. It was Wyatt's sister who bestowed the name “Bear Sticks” upon their staffs.
As time passed, Wyatt decided to attend Mount Senario College in Ladysmith. His major was art and upon graduation, received his Bachelors Degree in 1994. The next year he was invited to Southwest Texas State, in San Marcos TX, and received an internship in theater design.
He was an “Artist of the Month” at Lake Art in Ladysmith in 2004. He sold many sticks and paintings. Wyatt currently resides with his wife, Roberta, in Cumberland, WI. |
